Centre assures to redress Punjab rice shellers’ problems

A delegation of Punjab Rice Shellers, led by BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, called on the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal in Delhi to seek redressal of problems faced by the rice shellers in Punjab.
Punjab Rice Shellers’ Association president Bharat Bhushan Bitta apprised the Union Minister of the problems following which Goyal announced that fortified rice would not be subjected to tender system and would touch the open market and the entire stocks of the FCI should be made available on public domain.
The Minister also asked the senior FCI officials to address the rice shellers’ problems, while asking them to set up computerized laboratories so that the traders did not face problems.
