Punjab: Vigilance Bureau intensifies Rice Mills inspections amid shortage complaints

Following multiple complaints about rice shortages in mills, the Vigilance Bureau Range Ferozepur, under the direction of SSP Vigilance Ferozepur, Gurmeet Singh, has intensified inspections of rice mills across the district. A team led by  Raj Kumar Sama, Vigilance Ferozepur, along with government witnesses Dr. Neeraj Grover and Dr. Sukhdev Chopra, conducted inspections at various mills in the Makhu area, including Guru Ramdas Rice Mill, Garg Agrotech, and Maa Lakshmi Rice Mill.

During the inspections, shortages of government paddy/rice stocks were discovered at some mills. Legal action will be taken against the firms involved in the misappropriation. The bureau has also received complaints of similar discrepancies at mills in Zira, Talwandi, Ferozepur, Mamdot, and Guru Har Sahai. These mills will be inspected soon, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty of embezzlement.
