Paddy Procurement Investigated: Mills in Malkangiri (Odisha) Face Strict Audits

The inspections revealed irregularities in stock and documentation, resulting in one warehouse being sealed. Further investigations are set to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
After the recent procurement of paddy from mandis by mills, Minister Patra reviewed the district’s activities and instructed immediate audits. Acting swiftly, District Collector Ashish Ishwar Patil directed officials to examine stocks across three mills—Mahavir Mill, Taratarini Mill, and Prithvi Modern Mill. During the inspections, irregularities at Prithvi Modern Mill were identified, leading to its sealing.
The district administration emphasized that routine inspections across all mills would continue to maintain transparency. Officials stated that necessary corrective actions would follow if further discrepancies were found.
