Andhra Pradesh: Jana Sena alleges ₹36 cr rice, pulses sale scam

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation conducted its weekly grievance programme Jagananna Ki Cheubdam (Spandana) on Monday. The programme received 92 grievances from the public. Mayor G Hari Venkata Kumari, who received the requisitions from the public, directed the officials to resolve the issues within the next three days.

Meanwhile, Jana Sena corporator P Murthy Yadav gave a complaint to the mayor during the Spandana programme alleging a ₹36 crore scam through the sale of rice and pulses. In the representation, he alleged that all the 1,030 resource persons in the GVMC area were ordered to sell the rice and pulses’ kit worth ₹1,210 each to all the 3.18 lakh women self-help group members.

“The scam was well planned and executed by GVMC additional commissioner Y Srinivas Rao and UCD project director Papu Naidu along withs some traders whose details or addresses were not mentioned in the entire process,” alleged Murthy Yadav.
