Madhya Pradesh: Wheat worth Rs 3.5 cr missing: Breach of trust case against 3
The police on Saturday registered a case of breach of trust against Congress leader Vijay Singh Gautam, his employee Narendra Jat, and Warehouse and Logistics Corporation’s Khilchipur branch manager Bhagwan Patel in a Rs 3.5 crore missing wheat case.Ghattiya police station in-charge DL Dashoriya said that in 2020-21, 28,174 sacks of wheat were stored at Gautam Warehouse in Bachchukheda by Warehouse and Logistics Corporation under a contract. “Between June 25, 2024, and Sept 26, 2024, out of total 28,174 sacks of wheat each weighing 50 kg stored in the warehouse, 16,168 sacks went missing. The remaining sacks were found filled with debris, straw, and chaff,” he said.
The value of the missing wheat was found to be over Rs 3.5 crore. An investigation ordered by district collector into the case revealed involvement of the warehouse operator, branch manager of Khilchipur, and the employee.The police registered a case against all three under various sections of BNS.
