Three arrested for smuggling PDS rice in Telangana’s Mancherial

Three persons were arrested by sleuths of a task force team on the charges of smuggling rice grains meant for Public Distribution System (PDS) at Boyapalli village in Thandur mandal late on Monday night.

Police seized 30 quintals of rice and an auto-rickshaw from them. Another accused person was absconding.

Ramagundam commissionerate Task force inspector Raj Kumar said that Durgam Srikanth, Bulli Chandu and Kanugulu Tirupathi, all from Thangellapalli village were apprehended while shifting the grains in an auto-rickshaw, following a tip-off.

Govindula Srinivas was still at large. The three were handed over to Thandur police for further action.
